Pilar Zhang Qiu

I am an MEng Design Engineering graduate from Imperial College London, bridging the gap between innovative technology, user experience and business.

Since my graduation, I have worked as a data-driven researcher in AI for MedTech and as a software engineer, directing and bringing disruptive technologies to market.

BEST APPLICATION PAPER AWARD
2022 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS)

My team and I won the Best Application Paper Award at IROS 2022 (Kyoto, Japan), recognizing our work in the creation of an AI-based solution to automate clinical percussion examinations.

This is a lifetime achievement awarded to the most outstanding global research project with game-changing, real-life applications. 

 

Top 0.03%: 1 project selected from 3,579 global submissions in IROS, a world-leading robotics conference.

2020 Code2Care Hackathon

Podia is a digital solution to encourage patient participation in diabetic foot care. 

 

It was awarded both the 1st prize and Orcha Design award in the 2020 CodeToCare hackathon.
